We are excited to offer the rail industry two new innovative products. Our Portable CNC Low Profile Locomotive Wheel Lathe brings the industry from a manual, labor intensive, portable wheel lathe to a computerized numerically controlled wheel lathe. Our wheel lathe provides an accurate profile which reduces labor costs and enhances safety. The second product is our Heavy Duty Rail Car Wheel Truing System designed to re-profile freight or rail car/wagon wheels. Both truing systems remove minimal material and extend the life of the wheels while conforming to US and Foreign regulations.

Background

In May of 2006 Delta Manufacturing opened its doors to serve the rail industry with high quality gear cases, pilot snow plows (cow catchers), wear plates and specialty fabrication. Owners, Harold and Jean Ross, decided this was an opportunity to benefit the local community with new employment while offering the rail industry with top quality products and 30 + years of knowledgeable customer service.

After listening to Delta Manufacturing’s staff and customer needs, the number one problem in the world-wide railroad industry was truing of the wheels on both locomotives and freight (wagon wheel) cars. The CNC Low-Profile Wheel Lathe for locomotives was developed and introduced to the rail industry in 2008. In 2010 the Rail Car Heavy Duty Wheel Truing System was released. Today the two systems along with gear cases are being sold world-wide.
